I HATE HAMLET 

 What a smash hit!! Or should I say  swash.  The set!, the Costumes, the acting, the Swordfighting!!!  This play had It all.  Len Wcislo, Christine Haines and all the cast and crew can be very proud of the show.  The article in the  Southtown/Star was the best advertisement we have had for MANY years.  Good job to all.

Henry A. Perkins, a mild mannered C.P.A, accidently picks up the wrong briefcase one full of money. Henry assumes it is illicit cash and he decides to keep it. Knowing that the former owner must have his briefcase, he rushes home to book one way fares to Barcelona. He tells his confused wife to leave everything behind; if she doesn't like Barcelona, they can go to Bali. This is only the beginning.  6 m , 2 f

 Our Board of Directors is set up with 7  members, elected for 2-year terms.  Each Summer, the board then organizes itself i.e. elect the President, V. Pres., Treasurer, Sec.  To these, the president appoints up to 6 more members in counsel with the elected board members. This year the Board members whose terms are up include: Marie Murray, Lori Nussle, June Ryl-Kuchar, and Marie Whitney.  So there are 4 positions to be filled.  These members are eligible to run again.  The nominating committee is Peg Crawford and Dave Groebe who will present a slate. If you are interested in serving on the board or nominating someone, Call one of them.  Nominations can also be made that night.

  PLAY READERS SUMMER BREAK

 

The hard-working PVP Play Reading Committee will be taking the summer off and will reconvene in September.  In addition to the fun of their lively discussions, a significant goal for the group was met this year.  All the plays we own are now listed in a single database which we will continue to add to in the future.  Thanks to:  Jane Carvey, Peg Crawford, Ken Evans, Joann Robertson, Lori Rubino and Marie Whitney.  Details of the September meeting will be announced in a later newsletter

It is a 60-mile walk over the course of three days. Proceeds assist in funding research, education, screening, and treatment.

 NEWS

Nolan and Marie Murray’s son Robert graduated  with a Masters degree in Science Design  Methods from I I T in May.

 

Mark and Lori Nussle’s granddaughter SARAH NUSSLE  graduated from  West Delaware high school in Manchester Iowa.

 

JOYCE EDDY  lost her mother’s ring, probably during the strike for “Hamlet”.  It was white gold or platinum  and  had several diamonds in a curve.  Any one find it???  448-9235


AILING!

 PHYLLIS ADAMS will have major surgery June 12. Hopes to be back to speed in a month or so.

MARIE MURRAY goes into the hospital for a knee replacement on July 1. She will be at Palos Hospital.  Soon she will be hopping along  at a fast clip again.

 

We will be thinking of them
